Access to information and copyrights - 26 September 2014
The first interactive workshop of the 3rd stage was held in Bucharest, at the new office of the Research and Information Centre on Immigrant Integration (CDCDI) in 9 Comăniţa St., District 2.
The workshop was attended by members of the multidisciplinary researcher team of CDCDI, professionals and researchers in Bucharest and Constanţa.
The organisations and participants invited activate in relevant fields for immigrant integration. We thus had representatives of: the Centre for Civic Resources in Constanţa, the International Organisation for Migration, Novapolis Association, the University of Bucharest - the Faculty for Sociology and Social Work, the Ombudsman and the Romanian National Council for Refugees.
The general topic of the meeting was Access to information and copyrights.
The workshop had several sections, and Andra Bucur - the legal science researchers who held the presentation - tried to answer as clearly as possible to the following questions:
Why do we need and how do we obtain information?
What is an intellectual work?
Who is the author and what does the copyright stand for?
The presentation offered information with practical applicability for the participants, such as: data sources for research; how should an information request be written, according to Law 544/2001 on the free access to information of public interest; which are the main restrictions related to copyright and how these can be signalled on the materials produced.
The workshop was broadcast live through the equipment available at the centre and the online participants were able to interact with the research team in real time. The presentation of the multidisciplinary team was broadcast online by means of the interactive board and the webcam.
