Workshop II

Discussing Immigrant Integration Barometer Research Tools, January 2013

The second interactive workshop was held on 29 January 2013 in Bucharest, at the office of the Research and Information Center on Immigrant Integration - 43 Sld. Velicu Stefan St., 023255, District 2.

The participants in the interactive workshop were members of the multidisciplinary team - researchers in immigrants' integration, anthropology, legislation. We also had participants from Constanta, Cluj Napoca and Iasi.

The organisations and participants were selected based on the activities performed in relevant areas for immigrants' integration. Thus we had representatives of the Centre for Civic Resources in Constanţa (www.resursecivice.ro) and LADO Cluj (www.ladocluj.org).

The general topic was discussing the research instruments of the Immigrant Integration Barometer.

The workshop agenda included several sections:
10:30 – 11:00 Welcome coffee
11:00 – 11:30 Reviewing the aim and development pattern of the interactive workshops.
Presentation of activities performed within the project to date.
Presentation of the Center's activity.
11:30 – 12:00 Reviewing the research team's role and activities
Presenting the questionnaire for quantitative data collection
Presenting the interview guidelines for qualitative data collection
12:00 – 12:30 Buffet
12:30 – 14:30 Debate

The workshop was broadcast live by the equipment available at the center and the participants were able to interact with the research team in real time. The presentations made by the multidisciplinary team members and the invitees could be viewed online by the interactive board. The webcams enabled virtual participants to follow the event development in real time.
