The research team's objective for this meeting was to present the outcomes of the qualitative survey and to receive constructive feed-back on the way how the results of interviews and focus groups are shown in the two qualitative survey reports.
The workshop structure was as follows:
- presentation of the project and review of the outcomes achieved to date;
- presentation of the multidisciplinary team and its activity, as well as of the stages covered before workshop 3;
- presentation of the outcomes of the qualitative survey undertaken with institutional actors;
- analysis and discussions based on the reports.
The presentation of the outcomes of the qualitative survey with immigrants included, after the methodology and sampling review, a discussion on the case of Syrian immigrants in Romania, as well as on the access to education of asylum seekers from third countries. Very useful and relevant suggestions on the structure and content of this report were also received from the participants who joined the workshop through the interactive platform and who received and reviewed the reports 2 weeks before these workshops.
As regards the report on the institutional factors, most discussions were dedicated to the way how the integration process was defined by researchers, as well as to the way how this was understood by the representatives of institutions and organisations.
Based on this workshop, the research team in charge of the survey had the possibility to collect valuable opinions on the sampling of immigrants during the following stages, on the research instruments to be used in the following stage and particularly on the way how to analyse the institutions' role in this process.
