85 Scholarships for Non-EU Country Citizens

The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) offers 85 scholarships for the university year 2014-2015 for foreign citizens of non-EU countries.

The persons interested to apply for under- and post-graduate studies in Romania may submit their application files by 15 February 2014 to the accredited Romanian diplomatic missions in the candidate's country of origin or residence or at the diplomatic mission in Bucharest of the candidate's country of origin. Priority shall be given to citizens of non-EU countries with which Romania has not concluded any cultural or educational cooperation agreements.

Application files shall be submitted in English or French languages. Documents in other languages shall be accompanied by authorised translations in Romanian, English or French. Universities may request that all application documents be accompanied by legalised copies and authorised translations in Romanian.

Scholarships are awarded for three educational levels: first cycle (undergraduate - "licenta"), second cycle (master's degree) and third cycle (doctoral studies), in the following priority areas: political and administrative sciences, Romanian culture and civilisation, journalism, technical studies, oil and gas, agricultural studies, veterinary medicine, architecture, arts.

The study language shall be Romanian and candidates who do not speak Romanian may benefit from an additional preparatory year for studying the language. The students who state they already speak Romanian shall pass a language test organised by the higher education institutions.
