2 October 2014
The Department of Sociology at the University of Massachusetts, Boston announces a new PhD Program in the Department of Sociology, specialised in migration.
The university programme is designed in such a way as to help students better understand the social forces shaping migration and globalization, combining theory with practical training in research, statistics and assessment methods.
PhD students will initially complete a set of courses in social theory and research methods and then concentrate in one of these areas: health services, communities and crime, or immigration and globalization. Research activities will be conducted in collaboration with partner universities in the programme from US and Germany.
As this is the only public university in Boston, the tuition fee for post-university studies is lower than in the case of programmes provided by private universities. The programme offers a limited number of scholarships and applications may be sent in the autumn of 2014.
