Immigrants in Europe
Carmen Munteanu - Communications Coordinator
13 February 2013
Migration is a very difficult topic to approach because it has a very weak media exposure, and, on top of that, nobody knows its positive aspects.
To improve these aspects, youngsters are encouraged to take part in the “Immigrants in Europe” multimedia contest. It is meant to offer young artists and communication responsibles the chance to think about the immigrants’ contribution to the European society today.
The contest is addressed to pupils/students over 18, who are in an art, graphic or communication school in a country from EU and Croatia. The schools are encouraged to present their works in three categories – poster, photo and clip. Each school can present one or more works in one or several categories. The works will be assessed at a national level and the best will be forwarded to a European jury which will decide the winners.
The public will also have the chance to vote online on this website. The authors of the 30 works chosen will go to Brussels to attend the awards ceremony which Mrs. Cecilia Malmstrom, European Commissioner for Interior Affairs, is expected to attend. The schools of the first prize winners in all three categories and of the first prize voted by the public will be given EUR 10,000 each.
Deadline for applications: June 21, 2013.
