The international project Diaspora Link is financed by the European Commission within the framework programme Horizon 2020 - Research and Innovation, for the period 2014 - 2018. Diaspora Link is a network of 32 universities and research institutes in the European Union, America, Africa and Australia which will investigate, evaluate and facilitate transnational diaspora entrepreneurship, as an instrument for development and welfare for both origin and destination countries.
The basic tasks of participating institutions are: building an IT curriculum for transnational entrepreneurship within and outside universities and a transnational platform for internal communication and team building; studying transboundary entrepreneurship along migration corridors, raising awareness among political decision makers on the development potential of transboundary entrepreneurship.
The overall project objective is to create a global network of universities in order to monitor entrepreneurship along migration corridors, to identify obstacles and to support stakeholders with information and entrepreneurship courses.
