Development of the Institutional Capacity of the Bureau of Migration and Asylum in the Republic of Moldova

Carmen Munteanu - Communications Coordinator

25 October 2013

The project "Strengthening and Development of the Institutional Capacity of the Bureau of Migration and Asylum - consolidating the legal and institutional framework for a better management of the migration and asylum system", developed by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), funded by the Romanian Government, aims to develop the migration management system in the Republic of Moldova.

The project extends between 1 October 2013–30 September 2014 and it includes - in addition to developing legislation on migration, training staff in topics related to legal migration, integration and illegal migration - the development of the first programme for immigrants' integration in the Republic of Moldova, based on good practices from Romania and other EU Member States.

The project has a 150,000 EUR budget and is undertaken in partnership with the Ministry of the Interior in Romania.
