The tenth Annual IMISCOE Conference, held in Malmö at the end of August, drew again the audience's attention to the Migrant Integration Policy Index (MIPEX). The conference theme was exploring the links between the crisis and the deep causes of migration, considering various patterns of migration in European countries.
Professor Timothy Hatton from the Australian National University - an expert in economic history and applied economy, whose research interests include the causes and effects of international migration, used the Migrant Integration Policy Index (MIPEX) as a reference on family reunification policies for his speech. References to MIPEX were also made within the workshop focusing on the monitoring and evaluation of integration policies.
The latest MIPEX report is the one published in March this year, which updates the profiles of France and the USA on migration policies up to 1 January 2013.
The IMISCOE research network who organised this event currently unites over 200 researchers from all over the world and 29 institutes in Europe specializing in studies of international migration, integration and social cohesion.
