New publication on counselling for migrants and diaspora members

Mariana Andrei - Communication Coordinator

9 March 2015

International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) published a guideline for governmental officials on counselling for migrants and diaspora members. The publication is called “Guide on Organising Mobile Counselling for Migrants and Diaspora Members”, and is the final outcome of the project “Enhancing the role of Georgian migrants at home” (ERGEM).

The guide is an excellent tool for relevant state institutions, providing instructions on the step by step counselling of migrants and diaspora members from their country.
The publication also helps improve data collection and analysis on migrants and diaspora communities abroad, enabling thus the preparation of policies to better protect these communities and to motivate them to get involved in the development of their country of origin. The guideline is based on the previous results of the ERGEM project. The project is coordinated by the Danish Refugee Council and involves, in addition to ICMPD, central institutions in Poland, Turkey and Georgia.

The publication is available for download in English and Georgian languages.
