Vacancy at UNHCR Romania for studying statelessness

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) - Romanian office has an open position of researcher for the study "Statelessness in Romania".
The researcher’s responsibilities consist of the analysis of available studies, reports and statistical data on statelessness in Romania, identifying good practices and obstacles and formulating recommendations. The research will also include, in addition to literature review, a review of policies and legislation, conducting structured interviews and focus-groups with the persons exposed to the risk of becoming stateless and with stateless persons and interviews with decision makers at various administrative and political levels.
Key requirements: candidates should have an university degree in law or associated fields, minimum five years experience in working with international and national legislation relevant for the project, analysis and writing abilities, and previous work in quantitative research projects.
The applicants should have very good communication skills with various players - government officials, members of the civil society, the academic environment and stateless persons, and should speak Romanian and English fluently.
