Researcher in Migration for COMPAS

The Centre on Migration, Policy, and Society (COMPAS), a research centre within the University of Oxford, is seeking to appoint a researcher, fixed-term until 28 February 2017, to be part of the Migration Observatory, a project that provides independent and authoritative analysis and accessible data on migration and migration policy issues in the UK.

The researcher will have the responsibility for producing high-quality analysis of UK migration, as well as writing briefings and responding to media requests on migration data; updating existing material in the Migration Observatory website; and providing support for different Migration Observatory outputs.
The researcher is expected to have the following work experience and skills: relevant academic qualifications; experience of working with quantitative data, including large data sets; experience working with STATA; excellent knowledge of quantitative social scientific methods; and experience in conducting analysis with those methods and presenting results. Moreover, familiarity with UK migration data and the Labour Force Survey (in the UK or other country) is desirable.
