SIRIUS Network Reunion in Brussels

Carmen Munteanu - Communications Coordinator

29 August 2013

The SIRIUS Network Reunion will be held in Brussels on 13 September, with the main topic on the agenda being an European Commission study developed in partnership with SIRIUS on newly arrived migrant children.

The study will be presented by some of its authors, involved in migrant education, and MPG will lead the discussions. Greater engagement of a wide range of stakeholders of immigrant children issues is essential to bridge the gap between research and policy. Moreover solutions can be proposed that respond to the realities faced by migrant youth.

The SIRIUS network's aim is to promote the knowledge transfer among stakeholders in order to improve the education of children and youngsters from migrant families. Bringing together partners from EU countries and key stakeholders, including policy makers, researchers, practitioners, representatives of migrant communities, NGOs, international organizations, etc. - the network will contribute to influencing policy development and implementation on migration and education in the EU.
