The 5th Global Conference „Strangers, Aliens and Foreigners” will be held between 5-7 September 2013 at Mansfield College, Oxford, United Kingdom. The conference is part of the research project Diversity and Recognition of the Inter-Disciplinary.Net organisation.

The project aims to explore the role of foreigners in creating identity, communities and societies. The conference will analyse the transformations and processes associated with globalisation, the new forms of migration and the massive movements of human population on the globe.

The presentations within the conference will answer questions such as: can the past be created and a new self identity be built and preserved for future generations? Which are the limits of our friendship with a foreigner? How someone becomes a stranger in their own house.
