The methodology regarding schooling and accepting foreign citizens from EU third countries has changed in Romania

Carmen Munteanu - Communications Coordinator

20 May 2013

The methodology regarding schooling and accepting foreign citizens from EU third countries in the public and private educational system in Romania has been published for 2013-2014.

The Order no. 3359/2013 regarding schooling and accepting foreign citizens from EU third countries, published in the Official Gazette no. 147/19.03.2013 modifies the previous methodology, that is foreigners who want to apply for a B.A., M.A. or PhD send the files directly to the universities they chose, but the educational institutions do not send acceptance letters anymore. The universities assess the foreigners’ files and communicate to the International Relations General Direction in the National Education Ministry the list of people suggested for the issuing of the acceptance letter, together with copies of requests for study from the candidates.

The acceptance letters are issued by the International Relations General Direction and sent to the soliciting universities.

The same order replaces the second annex with annexes 2A and 2B (requests for study in English and French) and abrogate annexes 3 a and 3 b from the methodology for the 2012- 2013 university year.

The list of superior educational institutions which organize the preparative year of Romanian for foreigners is in Annex 1 to the Order no. 3359/2013.
