Internship Stages at UNHCR

Carmen Munteanu - Communications Coordinator

20 November 2013

The UNHCR representation in Romania offers internship stages to qualified and dedicated students and graduates.

According to the institution's site, such stages, lasting between three and six months, are organised all the year long, depending on the ongoing projects and the needs and capacity of UNHCR departments to receive and supervise interns. The departments where such stages can be organised are: Programmes, Refugee Protection and Public Information (PR). Interested persons should send an application to the Representative office of UNHCR in Romania, to e-mail: rombu@unhcr.org. Students and graduates wishing to follow an internship stage at UNHCR should also submit a detailed CV and a letter explaining their motivation to attend such a stage.

The activities to be performed by the intern depend on the requirements of each department as well as on the intern's qualifications and interests. Most interns work on specific projects which will contribute both to their professional development and to meeting UNHCR objectives in areas such as legal protection, international relations, programme administration, awareness raising or public information.
