Turkfest Bucureşti, the 2013 edition in Herastrau Park

During May 17 and 19, the Turkish festival "Turkfest Bucharest, 2013 edition" will take place. Organized by the Tuna Foundation, which has been operating in Romania for many years now, the event aims to promote friendship, mutual understanding and Romanian-Turkish cooperation, but Turkish culture as well by organizing attractive and fun programs.

According to the Foundation site, "Tuna" builds bridges so as the citizens from both countries interact and know each other better, one of these bridges being the traditional Turkish Festival.

People in Bucharest who want to attend this event will have the opportunity to know Turkish hospitality, folklore, ancient art, crafts and many more… They will meet people and talk to Turkish volunteers involved in the event.

Given the fact that the festival will take place in Herastrau Park, those living in Bucharest will spend their time outdoors, tasting dishes from Turkish cuisine, listening to Turkish music played by the Mehter Turkish Brass Orchestra, the Palatul Copiilor Folk Chorus and Modern Halay, while admiring the traditional Turkish dances.
